Ixany Ortega born in Mexico City, April 23, 1975. recently lives and works in Madrid, Spain. She gets the BA of Fine Arts, in the ‘Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda"’ INBA in Mexico City. At the same time she participated in Drawing and Artistic Anatomy Free Workshops in "La Academia de San Carlos".

As a complement, since 1999 up to now, she had take several seminaries, curses and workshops of redaction, poetry, literature, painting and others, since writing is a very important part of her formation. Actually she still writes complementing her artistic production.

From 2004 to 2006, she elaborated and presented the thesis-investigation for her professional degree on a project called "Cuerpo-Objeto de Deseo"; artistic item, formed by 5 parts: narrative, poetry, philosophy, quotations from relevant authors and digital photography which is the intellectual and plastic height for the artist until now; nevertheless since 2007 and up to now she is working in the project “Hybrid Realities”, based mainly in experimental painting which play an important role in her first formal novel with the same title.
